North Texas Clinches Top Seed In LSA-North - Apr 16, 2009 As the regular season came to an end last week, the Mean Green found themself atop the Lone Star Alliance's North Division for the first time in team history. A tough home loss to rival SMU forced a three way tie for first including Texas Tech, leaving the final deciding factor to goal differential which fell in favor of NT. The team now finds itself with a much needed first round bye before taking on the winner of the LSA-South matchup featuring Texas A&M and Texas State. "The rest obviously gives us an opportunity to get healthy which has been an issue lately with a few nagging injuries," said Senior attackman Adam Kullberg . "The important thing for us is to maintain our focus and not let the break affect our play."
The Mean Green will play in the LSA's Final Four weekend April 25-26 at Westlake Stadium in Austin, TX and is expected to be a great showing with playoff games at the DI, DII and High School level. The weekend is set as follows.

With crucial saves from goalie Jared Bell and a sleu of transition goals, the Mean Green were able to outlast their opponent and win 14-11. North Texas is now 8-0 heading into their spring break trip to San Diego, CA to take on Rhode Island, San DIego State and the University of California San Diego. After Weekend Play, NT Remains Unbeaten - Mar 2, 2009 The Mean Green are now 7-0 on the 2009 season after defeating divisional rival Oklahoma State 21-1 and Ole Miss 14-4 this weekend.
